Stadium setback
DC's bid to get a new stadium would be hitting a snag. It seems DC Council member (and former Mayor) Marion Barry (yeah, the one who does coke with whores) doesn't like the idea.
"The soccer stadium is misdirected," said Barry, whose ward includes the proposed stadium site. "This is an ideal spot for housing, entertainment and shopping -- and maybe some office buildings. It would be great to have housing overlooking the river. And that's what I'm going to push the mayor on doing."I guess we'll have to wait and see on this one. Though other elected officials seem a bit more open to the idea of the stadium. ¶ 1:44 PM
